LaVon and I just saw the movie, Swing Vote, with Kevin Costner. We found the film to be a fun, feel good movie with a biblical message that comes right out of Amos or Ezekiel (see Ez. 34:1-10 where Israel’s political and religios leaders - her “shepherds” are chastised). In the film the presidential election ends in a tie awaiting the outcome of New Mexico’s vote, which is also a tie. But one man’s vote was not counted by the voting machines. So the entire presidential election will come down to Bud Johnson (played by Kevin Costner) when he is given the chance to recast his vote. The film captures the attempts of both candidates to lure Johnson, and Johnson’s own discovery of what is really important in life. If you are looking for a fun and inspiring movie, and can look past the language (a fair amount of swearing), you may enjoy this film. We did!
