Adam and Servant,

I have enjoyed the Gray series and think that Adam was mainly right on, and appreciate him taking on this issue. When addressing the military he might have used Luke 22:36.
Before our government eliminates" poverty " here at home and then around the world; before our government provides "free" healthcare to all our citizens (legal and illegal) ; before our government solves all the problems of all our citizens who have suffered in one way or another from no fault of their own; before our government solves all the problems of our citizens who have made poor choices (like having children out of wedlock), the government needs to provide security for our citizens against foreign and domestic terror or military threat. If Jesus was physically here right now, we wouldn't need this , but in His physical absence we need to heed Luke 22:36 when He told His followers:"he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip; and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment , and buy one". I can't wait for His return when we can totally disarm! Until then we should heed His words in America( the last best hope for freedom) and remain militarily second to none. I don't care what it costs! After 911 I was so upset that our government had let us down. This country has never gotten itself into a war because we were too strong( Ronald Reagan).

Adaam,
I appreciated your sermon on Sunday. I think those that take issue with what you said, may be having a hard time coming to terms with the idea that Jesus may not some of the direction our nation is taking.
I do want to make a point regarding one part of your sermon, $0.41. It is true our country spends enormous amounts of money on our military. Anyone that has ever done business with the military knows one thing, NOBODY knows how to spend money the way te United States Military does. Some of you shoppers out there may think you can spend with the best of them. If you think that, you've never seen your military spend. Your military has teams of people, diligently searching every code and regulation under the sun, trying to find ways to make their construction projects more expensive. The same is true for everything they buy, and everything they do. Believe me, coming from a person that claims to be somewhere in a gray area between social liberal and fiscal conservative, it makes my skin crawl to see this.
